Sealing and Staining
Bark is wood’s natural protective skin. When wood goes through the milling process, it is stripped of this natural protection that keeps out water and preserves the natural oils in the wood. Although pressure-treated word will not rot, it is still subject to drying and weathering effects that can weaken it over time and obscure the natural beauty of the wood. A good linseed oil-based solid or semi-transparent stain provides a protective coating, like bark, and the linseed oil acts much like wood’s natural protective oils. A protective sealant stain should be applied thirty to sixty days after construction for all exterior wood, including pressure treated. Staining and sealing your fence once a year is an essential part of keeping the value and aesthetics of your fence intact.
Our technicians properly stain and seal your exterior wood coating all exposed sides including end grains to properly protect the lumber.
